Edmond de Rothschild REIM acquires an ionic 26,000 sqm office complex in Frankfurt

19th January 2021

Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management acquired the “Main Triangel”, an iconic 15-storey office complex in Frankfurt on behalf of the Edmond de Rothschild Smart Estate fund.

Built in 2008 with LEED Gold certification, the "Main Triangel" offers 26,323 square meters of lettable space. It is an elegant steel and glass construction with a floor-ceiling-height transparent glass façade on the banks of the river Main opposite the European Central Bank. The main user is the Oberfinanzdirektion Frankfurt. The building was acquired for 144 million euro.

Caroline Demol, Fund Manager at Edmond de Rothschild, said: “This acquisition fulfills a strategic allocation by adding a quality asset with sustainable and long-term income, in one of the strongest euro area markets, to the SMART Estate Fund’s holdings and responding to the post-pandemic search criteria for assets with lower risk profile and good downside protection. This acquisition has been made possible thanks to Edmond de Rothschild REIM Germany’s strong sourcing capacity which secured an attractive investment opportunity off-market in a competitive environment, and thanks to Edmond de Rothschild’s Wealth Solutions Direct Investment Team and the Private Bank’s strong execution capabilities.”
